I went to a Bible study tonight. They were studying about “spiritual” facts in the Bible. Heaven/Hell… angels/demons… good guys and bad guys. Afterwards, I started to think about heaven… home. I must confess, that more often than not, my heart is not there. In a time of my life where home is… well, not in one particular place, I have been gently reminded that I am to fix my eyes on Jesus. He is the author and perfector of my faith. My home is with him. There is a song…. “if home is where the heart is, then I’m out of place”

My prayer today… Lord lead me in paths of righteousness for your sake. Direct my steps and guard my heart. I do not want to be far from you.

This seemed to be the theme of my time spent with God today. What an awesome gift, to have a divided heart, pieced together by the author and perfector of our faith into a wholly devoted lover of God. Several scriptures come to mind, but this was my favorite:

Teach me your way, O Lord, and I will walk in your truth;

Give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name.

I will praise you, O Lord my God, with all my heart;

I will glorify your name forever;

For great is your love toward me;

you have delivered me from the depths of the grave.

Psalm 86:11-13

I took a night to relax, and I think that that is almost as important as eating healthy. Taking a nap, a bubble bath… reading. It was pretty fantastic!

bfast: cheerios and 2 cups non fat milk

snacked on cheese nip chips (about 10 of them) they are really good.

lunch: salad with thousand island, water, and lasagna

ran: 3 10 minute miles

dinner: 1 piece of turkey, and a minute maid juice popsicle (grape

Wednesday 9/13/06

cheerios and non fat milk (2 cups)

10 cheese nip chips

large brownie and a few sips of non fat milk

8 cheese nip chips

Dinner: salad with a piece of ham and turkey. and baked cheese spaghetti. cup of water

Ran: 2 10 minute miles, and ran/walked 2 more miles at an incline

Guarded.

Guard your heart for it is the wellspring of life.

I think I have taken this a little too much to heart. It is so easy to remain guarded in relationships. My friends, my coworkers, etc. Past hurts, rejections make it so easy to keep the barricade up. Inside Im screaming… I’m not getting hurt again!! Outside, Im smiling and pretending to have my arms open. I like pretending/ “fakin it”. It’s safe. But then God has gently reminded me that as much as I want to, I’m His daughter, and in being like Him, I can’t follow in his footsteps with my arms crossed and face to the ground. To look into the eyes of the ones He loves and be completely honest with people, love them, and forgive them even when it might hurt…. goodness,, it’s so awkward for me, but it’s my Father’s way.

Today at work I had a rare moment to sit with a friend and look at a friends blog. I was so proud just sitting there and showing him the faces of people that she had touched, that she had reached out to. The whole site represented her passion…. Jesus. Then, as we were almost done, I realized that the friend looking intently over my shoulder was not a Christian. In letting my guard down, and not even intentionally “witnessing” to him, He had seen God’s light/ truth in that blog. There was no fear of showing him a small part of my heart. In opening my heart the love of God was spilled out. It was a small step, just a little break in the barricade, AND it was painless!

God thank you for your loving kindness. Your love is better than life, and I want to continue to grow in it. Thanks for showing me the way and help me to live in the right direction, because there are people who are lost and need to know the way. Forgive me for not trusting you in everything, and not allowing you to heal my heart. Even if you have to open the patched up sore and clean it from the inside out, I ask you to not delay. I am so glad that I can call you friend and father.

I wasn’t hungry, but I ate anyway… out of fear that I would to busy at work to get to eat later. I felt guilty about this… and also wondered what was wrong with me, because I am always hungry.

cheerios, 2 cups non fat milk plus, 6-8 wheat thins with some cheese dip, 3 strawberries with a little chocolate on them, banana, jason’s deli veg. soup, a salad with thousand island dressing, water with lemon, a piece of cake with strawberries and whip cream, and some vanilla/chocolate swirl icecream in a small cup. (hey, at least I had veggies today

ok. I haven’t had much time to blog.

Sat: raisin bran for bfast. 1/2 snickers bar. lasagna, small piece of cheese pizza, 2 brownies, and vanilla icecream and milk.

Ran: 3 10:30 miles

Sun: cheerios (fat free milk), Went out for Mexican (a weakness:) cheese quesidilla, refried beans, with sour cream, guacamole (GREEN!!) and a chips and salsa!! a soy latte with hazelnut…. watered down sweet tea (for when I dont want a LOT of sugar), and for dinner: 2 brownies.

Ran:0 miles (my heel did not hurt all day I need new shoes

1 small slice of Ms Carolyn’s pound cake (she is one of the best cooks I know)

a handful of cheerios

1 slice cheese toast, 1/2 baked chicken breast, baked beans, and mashed potatoes.

Ran: 0 miles. My heel has been hurting
